Surp Hagop Church, Armenian Apostolic church in Old Syriac quarter, Aleppo, Syria
The church features a single-nave basilica architectural style with a modest building structure and a small belfry surrounded by an expansive yard.
The ground blessing ceremony occurred in 1934 under Archbishop Ardavazt Surmeyan, followed by construction in 1940 and consecration in 1943.
The church honors Saint Jacob of Nisibis and maintains religious services for the Armenian community, preserving their spiritual traditions in Syria.
Located on Al-Iman street, the church occupies 750 square meters of land and underwent complete renovation work between 1988 and 1989.
The building stands without a dome, distinguishing it from typical Armenian church architecture while serving the Armenian lowland community of Aleppo.
