Cathedral of Elijah the Prophet

The Cathedral of Elijah the Prophet is a Greek Orthodox church in the Jdeydeh quarter featuring two tall towers on its facade and a central dome rising above its brick construction. The building displays classical religious architecture with a striking vertical composition.

The church was consecrated in 2000 and replaced the former Church of the Dormition of Mary as the main cathedral for Greek Orthodox believers in Aleppo. This change marked a significant turning point for the religious institution in the city.
