Rasi Salai, Administrative district in Si Sa Ket Province, Thailand.
Rasi Salai is an administrative district in Si Sa Ket Province comprising thirteen sub-districts with roughly 190 villages spread across the area. The district sits at about 127 meters elevation and is administered through local governance structures at the tambon level.
The district was originally called Khong before being renamed Rasi Salai in 1939 during administrative restructuring. This change reflected broader shifts in how northeastern Thailand organized its local government.
The district maintains regional traditions of the Isan culture, visible in local markets and village gatherings where people meet and celebrate. These customs shape how communities here observe festivals and daily routines.
The area operates on the UTC+07:00 time zone and uses postal code 33160 for mail. A network of roads connects the district to neighboring areas, making travel and transport straightforward.
The Mun River flows through the district and once supplied a dam built in 1994 that was removed in 2000. The dam's removal happened because it harmed local farming communities.
