Kasetsart University is a public research institution in Lat Yao offering programs in agriculture, engineering, life sciences, and social studies across more than 30 faculties. The university was established on February 2, 1943, by three educators including Phra Chuangkasetsinlapakan as Thailand's first specialized agricultural institution. The university symbol features Phra Phirun, the god of rain, riding a Naga, representing the connection between education and natural resources.
The academic year is divided into two semesters, running from January to May and from August to December. Exchange students are required to take Thai language courses as part of their program.
