Tuzla is a district on the southeastern edge of Istanbul Province, located along the shore of the Sea of Marmara. It covers a range of neighborhoods, from dense residential areas near the water to quieter zones farther inland.
After the 1923 Lausanne Treaty, Turkish families relocated from Greece settled in what had been a small fishing town, reshaping its population completely. Over the following decades, the area grew steadily as new industries and schools took root on its outskirts.
