Istanbul Park, Motorsport racing track in Akfırat, Turkey.
Istanbul Park is a motorsport racing track in Akfırat near Istanbul, designed with fourteen corners spread along a circuit over five kilometers in length. The facility offers grandstands for more than one hundred thousand spectators and a long main straight that provides opportunities for overtaking.
The racing track opened in 2005 as a joint project between government support and private investment. After several years without major events, international racing series returned in recent years.
Formula One drivers consider Turn 8 as one of the most demanding corners in motorsport racing due to its physical requirements and technical precision.
The facility lies a few kilometers from Sabiha Gökçen Airport and is easily accessible during events. On race days, arriving early is advisable as access roads fill up quickly.
The track runs across multiple elevation levels, causing cars to reach different speeds in different sections. This natural terrain creates varied racing conditions and constantly challenges drivers in new ways.
