Construction of the stadium began in June 2011 and was completed in December 2015. It replaced the former Atatürk Stadium as the home venue for Bursaspor football club.
The name 'Timsah' means crocodile in Turkish and has long been the symbol of Bursaspor football club. This identity appears throughout the venue and shapes how supporters connect with the place.
The stadium connects to central Bursa via the BursaRay metro system at Acemler station. Ticket purchases are made through the Passolig card system used throughout Turkish football venues.
The northern section of the stadium features an architectural structure shaped like a crocodile head that extends prominently from the main building. This distinctive design element makes the venue recognizable from many angles around the area.
