Huber Mansion, Historic mansion in Tarabya, Turkey.
The Huber Mansion is a historic estate in the Tarabya neighborhood of Sarıyer, Istanbul, designed in the Art Nouveau style. The white three-story building sits within gardens that reach down to the shore of the Bosphorus.
Auguste Huber acquired the property in 1890 and commissioned Italian architect Raimondo D'Aronco to renovate it in 1906. Since then the estate has served as a reception venue for official guests of the Turkish government.
The estate takes its name from Auguste Huber, a German businessman who lived here in the late nineteenth century. Today the building stands as an example of Art Nouveau architecture in a neighborhood that once held diplomatic summer residences along the Bosphorus.
The estate now functions as a presidential residence and is not open to the public, though it can be viewed from the coastal road. The gardens and building are only accessible during official state visits.
The grounds cover more than 340,000 square meters (84 acres) and include around 64,000 square meters (16 acres) of forested area. This wooded section lies within the city limits of Istanbul and forms a rare green enclave along the Bosphorus.
