Gongfan Temple, Chinese temple in Mailiao, Taiwan
The temple complex contains traditional Chinese architectural components with intricate sculptures and ornate decorations spread across multiple halls and courtyards.
Established in 1685, the temple underwent several relocations and reconstructions, including a major renovation between 1906 and 1908 with Japanese government approval.
The main hall houses the Mazu statue brought from Meizhou Island, while additional deities like Wenchang Dijun and Shennong occupy dedicated worship spaces.
The temple maintains regular opening hours and welcomes visitors who can access the site through public transportation routes connecting to Mailiao town center.
Following severe flooding in 1898, local craftsmen from different regions collaborated on extensive repairs, incorporating regional architectural techniques into the structure.
