Mailiao Township

Mailiao Township is an administrative division in northwestern Yunlin County located along the coast, comprising thirteen distinct villages spread across the territory. The area stretches across coastal land with various residential communities distributed throughout the region.

The region transformed from an agricultural area to an industrial center following the establishment of a major refinery in the late 20th century. This shift brought significant economic changes that reshaped the local landscape and economy.

Local temples like Gongfan and Yong'an serve as gathering places where residents celebrate religious festivals and community events throughout the year. These spaces reflect the spiritual beliefs that remain central to everyday life in the township.
