大稻埕辜宅, Historical mansion in Datong District, Taiwan
The residence features ornate arched windows, geometric plasterwork decorations, and detailed balusters across its multiple floors near the Tamsui River.
Built in 1920 by the Koo family near their salt trading warehouse, the mansion contained more than twenty rooms across multiple buildings.
The interior demonstrates the fusion of Eastern and Western architectural elements, with cypress wood ceilings and staircases bearing marks of the Daiwa Trading Company.
The mansion currently operates as the Rongxing Kindergarten, maintaining many original architectural features while serving an educational purpose.
Ships could dock directly in front of the mansion, and the family received special permission to drive on the river embankment.
