Town hall, Kolomyia

The town hall in Kolomyia is a Renaissance administrative building on Hrushevskogo Street, notable for its Gothic roof and neo-Renaissance architectural details. The structure now houses the City Council and other municipal offices.

Following the grant of Magdeburg rights in 1405, the original building experienced major fires in 1865 and 1871 that led to its reconstruction. The current Renaissance structure emerged from these rebuilding efforts and changes.

The building became a symbol of local identity when regional flags were raised on its tower during a pivotal moment in 1918. It stands today as a reminder of that era in the heart of the city center.

The town hall sits at the edge of the main square and is easy to reach on foot when walking through the city center. Access is straightforward since the building faces a main street and is clearly visible.

Between 1947 and 1990, the building served completely different purposes, including as a dental clinic and medical school. This unexpected chapter shows how urban buildings can shift their roles over decades.
