Chuhuiv Raion, Administrative district in Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine
Chuhuiv Raion is an administrative district in Kharkiv Oblast in eastern Ukraine. The area covers approximately 4,800 square kilometers (1,850 sq mi), encompasses nine territorial communities, and includes the Pechenihy Reservoir on the Siverskyi Donets River.
The district took its current form through a major administrative reform in 2020, when three neighboring raions were merged together. This reorganization significantly enlarged the territory and created an expanded administrative structure.
Schools and cultural institutions are scattered across the nine communities and shape daily life in the region. Different ethnic groups have influenced this area and continue to affect how people live and interact with each other.
The district is located in the Eastern European Time zone and has good road connections throughout Kharkiv Oblast. These transportation links make it easy to move between the different communities and larger cities in the region.
A major Ukrainian Air Force base is located within this territory. The Pechenihy Reservoir not only provides water but also serves as an important part of the natural infrastructure that supports the surrounding communities.
