Kozacha Lopan, Railway settlement in Kharkiv Raion, Ukraine
The settlement extends along the banks of the Lopan River, positioned 5 kilometers from the Russian border at an elevation of 144 meters.
Founded in 1660, Kozacha Lopan developed from a small outpost into a transportation center connecting Ukrainian and Russian railway networks.
The railway station functions as the final Ukrainian checkpoint before Russia, marking a transition point between Eastern European transportation systems.
Travelers can reach Kozacha Lopan through the M20 highway or by taking regular train services that connect Kharkiv with Belgorod.
In January 2024, the settlement changed its administrative status from urban-type to rural following new Ukrainian legislation.
