The Fordham, Residential skyscraper in River North, Chicago, US
The Fordham is a residential tower with 52 floors located at the corner of Superior Street and Wabash Avenue in Chicago. The building features a distinctive château-inspired roof design and houses about 250 residences, including penthouse units in its upper levels.
The building was designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and Associates and completed by the Fordham Company in 2003. It arose as part of Chicago's contemporary urban development in the River North area.
The building stands out with its distinctive roofline that catches the eye when walking through the neighborhood. Its presence reflects how luxury residential development has shaped this part of Chicago.
Residents access their homes through private elevators, and the building offers a fitness center, swimming pool, and bike storage facilities. A 24-hour door staff service provides security, and the area is easily walkable for exploring the neighborhood.
An unusual feature is the townhouses on the eleventh floor arranged around an interior courtyard. This arrangement gives residents on that level the feeling of ground-level living while being high up in the tower.
