Clintwood

Clintwood is the county seat of Dickenson County in the Appalachian region of southwestern Virginia. The town sits on mountainous terrain and serves as the administrative and service center for surrounding communities.

The settlement was founded in 1829 and was originally called Holly Creek before being renamed to honor a Confederate officer. This name change reflects the local history of the region.
