College Park Airport

College Park Airport is an airfield in Maryland with a runway of approximately 2,600 feet, hangars, and an aviation museum spread across about 40 acres. The facility supports private flight operations, flight training, and maintenance services for small aircraft.

Wilbur Wright taught the first U.S. military pilots here in 1909, marking the start of formal aviation training in America. These early sessions established the foundation for the nation's aeronautical development.

The College Park Aviation Museum displays aircraft and artifacts that document how aviation developed in this region over many decades. Visitors can see how airplane design and technology changed over time through the collected exhibits.
