Lincliff, Historic residence in Glenview, United States.

Lincliff is a single-family home in the Glenview neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, built in Colonial Revival style. It features a symmetrical facade, gabled roofs, and classical decorative elements, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The house was built in 1911 and 1912 for William Richardson Belknap, a businessman who led a hardware manufacturing company. It fell into disrepair over the decades and was restored in 2000, which brought its original details back.

The home reflects architectural preferences that were common among wealthy families in the early 1900s. Its symmetrical design and classical details show how prosperous households chose to display their status through residential architecture.

The house sits in a residential area of Glenview and can be seen from the street without entering the property. Since it is a private home, visitors should keep their distance and avoid stepping onto the grounds.

William Richardson Belknap, who commissioned the house, ran Belknap Hardware, which grew into one of the largest hardware distributors in the country. The Colonial Revival style he chose for his home was a deliberate reference to early American history at a time when many industrialists wanted to connect their wealth to national roots.
