Warder Park

Warder Park is a green space in downtown Jeffersonville featuring mature trees, a central gazebo, and a compact amphitheater designed for outdoor events. The layout creates distinct areas for gathering and sitting throughout the grounds.

The park was established in 1881 and named after former Mayor Luther Warder who shaped the town. During the Civil War, a bakery on this site supplied bread to Union soldiers passing through the area.

The bronze statue of Thomas Jefferson dominating the open space links local and national history, marking significant anniversaries that shaped the town's identity.

The park is open year-round and located in downtown Jeffersonville with shaded seating areas throughout. Visitors can explore the different zones at their own pace and find seating beneath mature trees in most areas.

A Carnegie Library within the park grounds houses a remarkable collection of rare historical documents that few visitors know about. The collection includes a page from a Gutenberg Bible and a copy of the Magna Carta among other treasures.
