St. Lawrence Arts Center

St. Lawrence Arts Center is a performing arts venue located in a former church building on Congress Street in Portland. The main space is a theater with about 110 seats situated in what was originally the parish hall.

The building was constructed in 1897 as St. Lawrence Church and served the local Congregationalist community for many decades. Following its deconsecration in 1986, it was gradually converted into an arts center.

The center hosts theater productions, concerts, dance performances, and workshops throughout the year. This creates a gathering place where local artists regularly share their work with the community.
