Kursalon Vienna, Historic concert hall in Stadtpark, Austria
The Kursalon exhibits Italian Renaissance architecture with four spacious ballrooms spread across two floors and a terrace overlooking the Stadtpark gardens.
Johann Garben designed and constructed the Kursalon between 1865 and 1867 as a place for mineral water distribution and social gatherings in Vienna.
The Salonorchester Alt Wien performs daily concerts featuring compositions by Mozart and Strauss, accompanied by ballet dancers and opera vocalists.
The venue welcomes 300,000 visitors annually and hosts 500 concerts, with the main performances taking place in Lanner Hall on the upper floor.
Johann Strauss II conducted the inaugural concert in 1868, playing violin while directing his orchestra in what became a defining moment for Viennese music.
