Kursalon Vienna

Kursalon Vienna is a concert hall in Stadtpark featuring Italian Renaissance-inspired architecture with four spacious ballrooms across two floors. A terrace overlooking the park gardens and historicist interior design define the building's character.

Johann Garben designed and built the building between 1865 and 1867 initially as a place for mineral water distribution and social gatherings. It quickly developed into a center for musical performances in Vienna.

The orchestra Alt Wien performs daily concerts with works by Mozart and Strauss, accompanied by ballet and opera vocalists. These performances remain a central part of Vienna's musical life and show how the city maintains its classical tradition.

The building sits directly in Stadtpark and is easy to reach on foot, with clear signage and open entrance areas. The visitor experience is supported by spacious rooms and straightforward room layout.

Johann Strauss II conducted the inaugural concert in 1868 while playing violin, leading his orchestra simultaneously. Visitors often associate this moment with a turning point in Vienna's musical history.
