Schloss Niederosterwitz, Medieval castle in Sankt Georgen am Längsee, Austria
The castle features a hook-shaped floor plan with an eastern wing constructed after 1645, and subsequent additions in the southern and western sections.
The estate changed ownership in 1541 when Christoph Khevenhüller von Aichelberg acquired it, followed by Anton von Aichholt in 1645 and the Khevenhüller family in 1690.
The castle chapel contains a columned hall and houses an altar from 1670 decorated with cypress elements beneath a cloister vault ceiling.
The structure maintains its original architectural elements, including flat cornice bands and distinctive oxeye windows positioned within the mezzanine level.
The northeastern section of the castle incorporates a hexagonal chapel built on a raised terrace, setting it apart from other Austrian castles of the period.
