Khulna University, Public university in Khulna, Bangladesh
Khulna University is a public institution in Khulna occupying a large campus along Sher-e Bangla Road near the Moyur River. The grounds contain eight schools with classrooms, laboratories, and facilities supporting thousands of students in different fields of study.
The university was established by parliamentary law in 1990 and began operations in 1991. Its creation brought higher education access to the Khulna region.
The campus includes both a central mosque accommodating 2,000 worshippers and a temple, reflecting the diverse religious composition of the student population.
The main library holds a significant collection of materials and offers digital access to educational resources from institutions worldwide. Visitors can walk through the campus and find information about programs and facilities at various buildings.
The School of Science, Engineering, and Technology was among the earliest in Bangladesh to offer computer science and engineering studies. This made the institution a hub for technical education in the western part of the country.
