Hôtel Winssinger

Hôtel Winssinger is an Art Nouveau townhouse in Saint-Gilles with characteristic arched windows, white stone facade, and darker stone accents at ground level. A distinctive bay window projects forward from the main wall.

The building was commissioned by engineer Camille Winssinger and designed by architect Victor Horta between 1894 and 1897. Significant modifications were made in 1928 that altered some aspects of the original design.

The building shows Art Nouveau features that appear in curved shapes and fine ornamental details. This style was especially popular in Brussels at that time and defined the look of entire neighborhoods.

The building is located on Rue de l'Hôtel des Monnaies and currently houses architecture offices, an art gallery, and apartments. Keep in mind that some spaces may be private and not always accessible for viewing.

The original entrance hall preserves tall ceilings and details that showcase Victor Horta's architectural understanding. These interior elements display craftsmanship that matches the quality found throughout the building's exterior.
