Porte de Hal/Hallepoort metro station, Underground metro station near Small Ring road in Brussels, Belgium
Porte de Hal is an underground metro station situated beneath the Small Ring road in Brussels. It provides connections to metro lines 2 and 6, as well as premetro lines 4 and 10.
The station opened on October 2, 1988, when the metro line extended from Simonis to Gare du Midi. Premetro platforms were added later in December 1993.
The walls feature artwork by François Schuiten depicting trains and urban views. These pieces connect the area's medieval character with its contemporary role as a modern transport hub.
The station is one stop away from Brussels-South railway station and offers strong connections. However, there are no elevators, making access difficult for people with mobility challenges.
The station operates with separate platform levels for metro and premetro services. This design with four tracks allows different lines to run efficiently through the city.
