Magura Cave

The Magura Cave extends for 2500 meters through limestone formations, containing six main chambers and three additional galleries at 371 meters elevation.

The cave walls hold over 750 paintings created between 10,000 and 8,000 years ago, depicting scenes from the Epipaleolithic through early Bronze Age periods.

The cave paintings display fertility dances, hunting ceremonies, and what researchers identify as an early solar calendar made using bat guano techniques.

The interior temperature maintains 12 degrees Celsius with 80 percent humidity, and guided tours operate under protection measures implemented since 1993.

The largest chamber, called Arc Hall, measures 128 meters in length, 58 meters in width, and reaches heights of 21 meters.
