Museum House of Neofit Rilski, Bansko

The Museum House of Neofit Rilski occupies a stone and wood building that displays over 400 artifacts related to Bulgarian education and literature.

The museum, established in 1981, preserves the legacy of Neofit Rilski, who published the first Bulgarian grammar textbook in 1835 and shaped national education.

The collection contains manuscripts, photographs, and personal belongings that document the development of Bulgarian language instruction during the National Revival period.

Located at Pirin Street 17, the museum opens daily from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM except Tuesdays, with free admission on the first Monday of each month.

The building features fortress-like architecture with hidden exits and two distinct levels that demonstrate 18th-century Bansko construction techniques.
