Todorka, Mountain summit in Blagoevgrad Province, Bulgaria
Todorka is a mountain summit in Blagoevgrad Province that reaches 2,746 meters in elevation with three distinct sections: Golyama, Sredna, and Malka, forming a granite structure. The peaks are connected by mountain passes and provide access to various hiking routes across this alpine region.
The peak and surrounding region gained international attention when the nearby town of Bansko hosted women's ski races in 2009 and men's races in 2011. These sporting events brought worldwide recognition to the mountain region.
The two lakes called Todorini Ochi, meaning Todora's Eyes, lie in the eastern cirque and are connected to regional stories of romance and tragedy. These names shape how visitors understand the place and what stories they tell when hiking here.
Multiple hiking trails lead to the summit with access points from the Vihren refuge and Demyanitsa refuge through the Vasilashki Lakes area. The route is easy to follow on clear days, but weather at elevation can change quickly.
On clear days, visitors can see not only nearby peaks like Vihren and Kutelo but also the streets of Bansko far below in the valley. This unexpected view highlights the summit's height and its closeness to a living town.
