Yulen

Yulen is a nature reserve located in the Pirin Mountains featuring glacial lakes, alpine forests, and rocky terrain formed by geological processes over millions of years. The landscape combines open meadows with dense woodland areas at different elevations, creating varied environments within the protected zone.

The reserve was officially protected in 1994 to safeguard the alpine flora and fauna of the region. This action reflected Bulgaria's commitment to preserving its mountain ecosystems from human impact.
