The Regional History Museum contains over one hundred thousand artifacts spanning from 6000 BC to present day, documenting regional development through archaeological findings.
Founded in 1907, the museum stands on the remains of the main street from Augusta Traiana, a Roman city established in the first century AD.
The museum displays collections of work tools, Roman statuettes, medieval weapons, maps, flags, and documents connected to the Bulgarian National Revival period.
The museum opens Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00, offering guided tours in Bulgarian, English, and Russian languages with different admission rates.
The museum houses Europe's first copper mine artifacts dating back 6000 years and presents a handwritten copy of Istoriya Slavyanobolgarskaya by Saint Paisius.
