Natural Park of Fuentes del Narcea, Degaña e Ibias

Located in northern Spain, Fuentes del Narcea Natural Park spans 47,589 hectares across the municipalities of Cangas del Narcea, Degaña, and Ibias.

The park obtained its protected status in 2002, incorporating the Muniellos biosphere reserve, where timber extraction activities ceased completely in 1970.

Traditional agricultural methods persist within the park boundaries, while the nearby town of Cangas de Narcea features the Omaña Palace and Queipo de Llano Palace.

Access to certain areas, including the Muniellos and Cueto de Arbás Reserves, requires special permits obtained through the park administration office.

The park houses two Special Protection Areas for birds: the 5,500-hectare Bosque de Muniellos and the 51,000-hectare Fuentes del Narcea y del Ibias.
