Antiguo Monasterio de San Isidoro del Campo, Gothic-Mudejar monastery in Santiponce, Spain.
The monastery features double churches with interconnected naves, five cloisters, a tower, and multiple agricultural facilities within its fortified walls.
Founded in 1301 by Alonso Perez de Guzman and Maria Alonso Coronel, the monastery was built on a site where Saint Isidore of Seville was buried.
The monastery contains extensive 15th-century fresco paintings in the Death Cloister, representing medieval monastic art in southern Spain.
The monastery opens Tuesday through Sunday, with extended hours from September to June, offering guided tours of its medieval rooms and religious spaces.
The monastery became a center of Protestant Reformation in Spain, where Casiodoro de Reina produced the first Spanish translation of the Bible.
