Plaza de España, Architectural ensemble in Parque de María Luisa, Seville, Spain

The Plaza de España forms a semicircle with a diameter of 200 meters, featuring a central building, two towers, and a canal crossed by four bridges.

Architect Aníbal González designed this monumental space for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition, incorporating Renaissance and Moorish elements into the regional architectural style.

The walls display 48 tiled alcoves representing Spanish provinces, each decorated with historical scenes, maps, and regional coats of arms in ceramic tiles.

Visitors can reach the plaza through the Prado de San Sebastián metro station on line 1 or take small boats along the 500-meter canal encircling the plaza.

The location appears in international films including Lawrence of Arabia and Star Wars Episode II, where the building served as a palace on planet Naboo.
