Miengo, Coastal municipality in Cantabria, Spain
Miengo is a small coastal municipality in the Cantabria region of northern Spain, set between two river valleys known as rías. Its territory includes several sandy beaches, rocky coves, and borders the Dunas de Liencres natural park.
The area around Miengo has been inhabited since prehistoric times, as cave paintings found in Cudón show. Over the centuries, it grew from a fishing village into a small coastal community with a mix of farming and sea-based trades.
During the year, Miengo holds small local festivals where music, food, and traditional processions take place in open squares. These celebrations are tied to the sea and to local patron saints.
