Playa de Valdearenas

This 2800-meter-long sandy beach stretches along the Cantabrian coast, bordered by extensive dunes and a dense pine forest to the east.

The Liencres Natural Park, which includes Valdearenas Beach, received protected status in 1986 to preserve the largest dune system in northern Spain.

Local residents maintain traditional fishing practices at the mouth of the Pas River, which marks the western boundary of the beach.

The beach provides parking spaces for over 100 vehicles, with clear signage from the CA-305 road and basic facilities including showers and waste bins.

Strong winds and consistent wave patterns create grade-A surfing conditions throughout the year, with water temperatures averaging 15 degrees Celsius.
