The monastery dates back to 800 AD and became Navarre's first university in the 16th century, operating as an educational institution until 1824.
The monastery contains over 7,000 pieces of art and ethnographic items, along with a collection of carriages displayed throughout its passageways.
Visitors can explore the monastery from Wednesday to Sunday, between 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM and 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM throughout the year.
Adjacent to the monastery stands a fountain that dispenses both water and wine, continuing a centuries-old tradition of refreshing pilgrims.
