Torre Europa, International style skyscraper in AZCA district, Madrid, Spain
Torre Europa is a 120 meter office building in the AZCA business district with a steel and glass exterior. The structure spreads across 30 floors and serves mainly as office space with additional parking areas.
The building was completed in 1985 under architect Miguel de Oriol e Ybarra's direction. It marks a period when Madrid's financial district was expanding rapidly with new office projects.
The tower shows the building style of the 1980s with its focus on simple forms and practical function. Its understated design shapes the look of the business district to this day.
The building sits in a central location with direct access to nearby metro stations. Visitors can easily explore the area on foot, as many shops and cafes surround the structure.
In 2017 the building received LEED Gold certification after installing modern energy-saving systems. This retrofit made it a model for sustainable operation within the business district.
