Cuatro Caminos

Cuatro Caminos is a residential neighborhood in Madrid's Tetuán district organized on a grid pattern with streets named after provinces. The area contains mostly apartment buildings arranged in a structured layout, while its southeastern section includes the modern AZCA financial zone with contemporary office towers.

This area grew from a poor neighborhood along what is now Bravo Murillo Street into a developed residential zone. The transformation reflects Madrid's expansion northward as the city modernized its outer areas during the 1900s.

The streets here are named after Spanish provinces like Guipúzcoa, Cuenca, and Oviedo, showing how the city honored its different regions. Walking through, you notice these geographical names marking each corner, creating a sense of connection to the broader Spanish landscape.

The neighborhood connects easily to central Madrid through several metro stations including Alvarado, Estrecho, Santiago Bernabéu, and Nuevos Ministerios. The grid street layout makes walking between different areas simple and straightforward for visitors.

The southeastern section contains part of the modern AZCA financial district, with Torre Picasso standing near Castellana Avenue. This blend of ordinary residential buildings alongside contemporary corporate towers creates an unexpected contrast within the neighborhood.
