Springfield Central Stadium, Sports stadium in Springfield, Australia
Springfield Central Stadium is a sports venue in Springfield with an oval playing field and seating for 8,000 spectators. A covered grandstand section provides 600 seated places with shelter from the weather and views of the action.
Construction began in March 2020 with funding from government agencies and private organizations. The project created a new sporting venue for the Springfield area.
The playing field is named after Michael Voss, a former Brisbane Lions player whose legacy is honored on the ground where matches are held.
The stadium is easy to reach by train thanks to Springfield Central Station right next door. Trains connect directly to Brisbane and surrounding areas from this station.
The facility will host Modern Pentathlon events during the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games. This role expands what happens here well beyond Australian football matches.
