The stone walls and fortified structures of Alaejos Castle rise above the Castilian landscape in the province of Valladolid, displaying medieval military architecture.

Bishop Alonso de Fonseca ordered the construction of this defensive fortress in 1453, following the same architectural patterns as the Castle of Coca.

The castle stands as a protected Spanish heritage site, recognized as Bien de Interés Cultural, representing the military engineering of Castile and León.

The archaeological site, managed by Alaejos Town Council, welcomes visitors who can observe the remaining structures and defensive elements throughout the year.

This fortress served as a prison for Queen Juana of Portugal, wife of King Henry IV of Castile, during the medieval power struggles.
