Las Villuercas is a comarca in Cáceres Province, in the Extremadura region of western Spain, shaped by a mountain range with deep valleys and oak-covered ridges. Small villages dot the area, sitting between rocky slopes and flat valley floors crossed by rivers.
The comarca takes its name from the mountain range that appears in medieval records and gave shape to early settlement in the area. The founding of the monastery of Guadalupe in the 14th century then drew people and resources to the region, leaving a lasting mark on its towns.

The Villuercas mountains are among the geologically oldest in Spain, with rock layers containing fossils from the Cambrian period, over 500 million years ago. This recognition led to the area being designated a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2011, one of the few in the country.
