Parque natural del Moncayo, Nature park in Zaragoza Province, Spain
The Moncayo Natural Park extends across 11,144 hectares, rising from 600 meters at Huecha River to 2,315 meters at San Miguel Peak.
The Cistercian monks established the Veruela Monastery near the park during medieval times, introducing vineyard cultivation and the Garnacha grape variety.
The park contains interpretation centers in Agramonte, Añón del Moncayo, and Calcena, presenting local traditions and environmental education programs.
Visitors can access the park through Tarazona, San Martín de la Virgen del Moncayo, or the Cistercian monastery of Veruela, with free parking available.
The northern slope features diverse vegetation zones including oak groves, beech forests, and pine woods, while the southern face displays Mediterranean limestone formations.
