Teleférico de Madrid, Aerial lift in Casa de Campo, Spain
The Teleférico de Madrid is a cable car system that spans nearly 2.5 kilometers, suspended between Parque del Oeste and Casa de Campo park. Six-seater cabins hang freely above the cityscape, offering unobstructed views throughout the journey.
The system was built in 1969 by von Roll as an innovative connection between western Madrid and the large recreation area. It quickly became an important link between the city side and the park.
The cable car has been a familiar landmark for generations of madrileños who use it to reach the park or simply enjoy the view. Riding it offers a moment of distance from the busy streets below, letting you see the city from a different perspective.
The cable car is accessible from several metro stations near the endpoints, with Argüelles and Lago being the closest options. Early mornings and late afternoons tend to be less crowded times to ride.
The ride offers a direct view of the Temple of Debod, an ancient Egyptian temple relocated to Madrid, which appears especially striking from above. This unexpected sight from the air makes the journey memorable.
