Cala Xuclar

Cala Xuclar is a small sandy cove on the northern coast of Ibiza, enclosed by tall cliff faces that rise sharply from the shore. The beach itself is narrow and sheltered, with clear water and rock formations framing both sides.

The cove served as a fishing anchorage since medieval times and gradually developed into a permanent fishing settlement over centuries. Simple structures and huts were built over time to support the daily work of those who lived by the water.

Fishing boats have occupied this cove for generations and continue to shape its character, while a small beachfront restaurant sources daily catches from local fishermen. The rhythm of work here reflects how people have adapted their lives around the sea for centuries.

The beach can be reached on foot from the end of the EI-300 road, where limited parking is available, though it may fill quickly during peak times. There is no formal path down, so sturdy shoes are recommended, especially when rocks are wet.

Natural sea caves sit just below the waterline and can be explored during low tide, revealing hidden chambers within the rock formations. Few visitors discover these cavities, which are a rare feature of this stretch of the northern coast.
