Torre de Portinatx

Torre de Portinatx is a stone defensive structure rising from a coastal hill with a conical shape, two floors, and thick walls built to survey the sea. The tower commands views across the Mediterranean and the surrounding terrain.

The tower was built in 1763 as part of Ibiza's coastal defense system against Mediterranean piracy. It marks a period when the island's waters required active military surveillance and protection.

The tower reflects the maritime traditions of Ibiza and demonstrates how the coastal community organized its defense centuries ago. Locals and visitors today recognize it as a key landmark in understanding the island's relationship with the sea.
