The Sierra del Sueve extends 25 kilometers in length and 9 kilometers in width, reaching an elevation of 1,161 meters at Picu Pienzu peak.
The limestone formations of Sierra del Sueve date back to the Carboniferous period, with distinct geological layers revealing millions of years of natural development.
The mountain range maintains a strong connection to the Asturcon horses, a native breed that roams freely across its slopes and meadows.
Visitors can access Sierra del Sueve through the AS-258 and AS-432 roads from Infiesto and Colunga, with multiple trailheads available for hiking expeditions.
The north base of Sierra del Sueve contains an exceptional enclave of ferns, which is particularly notable given its location in a non-tropical climate zone.
