Islas Lobeiras, Uninhabited archipelago in Corcubion estuary, Spain.
Islas Lobeiras are two separate groups of small islands located in the Atlantic Ocean within the Corcubion estuary. The archipelago spreads across multiple rocky outcrops separated by roughly a kilometer and a half of open water.
The largest island in the Lobeira Grande group once supported a lighthouse with resident keepers and their families. Automation of the light signals eventually ended the need for full-time human presence on the islands.
The islands remain untouched by modern development, preserving natural marine environments for scientific research and wildlife observation.
Reaching this archipelago requires taking a boat, as there are no bridges or other direct connections. Plan to bring everything you need since no facilities, supplies, or services are available on the islands.
These islands serve as nesting grounds for several seabird species that breed in their rocky terrain. The wildlife here remains largely undisturbed and offers rare opportunities to observe marine birds in their natural habitat.
