Arnedo Arena, Bullring in Arnedo, Spain
Arnedo Arena is a bullring facility in the town of Arnedo, constructed with natural materials and artificial turf. The circular structure reflects the agricultural heritage and clay landscapes of the La Rioja region.
The municipality of Arnedo selected AWEN Arquitectos through a competition to design and build this modern facility between 2008 and 2009. The project emerged from the town's need to create a contemporary venue for its traditions.
During the Fairs of San José and San Cosme and San Damián, this place becomes a center for bullfighting events and regional celebrations. The local community gathers here to participate in traditional festivities tied to their calendar.
The facility has three levels: a bullring on the ground floor, public access corridors on the first floor, and a museum with restaurant on the top level. Visitors can explore all areas and use the amenities according to their interests.
Heat cannons installed throughout the arena maintain comfortable temperatures during cold weather. Perforated galvanized metal sheets enhance natural ventilation throughout the space.
