The church stands on the site of a former mosque and received its first stone in 1602 from Archbishop Juan de Ribera of Valencia.
The interior displays rococo decorations created by Hipòlit Rovira and Luis Domingo, incorporating carved angels, fabrics, and vegetation patterns.

The main facade presents Solomonic columns with side corbels supporting two female figures, while traces of Saint Andrew's cross remain in the upper section.
