Església de Sant Joan de la Creu de València, Baroque church in Valencia, Spain

Església de Sant Joan de la Creu de València is a baroque church in Valencia with a single-nave structure and side chapels positioned between buttresses. The eastern end features a polygonal choir that concludes the architectural layout.

The church was built on the site of a former mosque and received its first stone in 1602 from Archbishop Juan de Ribera of Valencia. This founding moment marked a significant transition in the location's religious history.

The interior displays rococo decorations by Hipòlit Rovira and Luis Domingo with carved angels and plant motifs throughout the space. These ornamental details create a rich visual experience as visitors walk through the chapel areas.

The church is located on Calle Poeta Querol in Valencia and is accessible as an active parish church. Visitors should be aware that it continues to serve religious functions, so access may be limited during services or ceremonies.

The main facade displays Solomonic columns with side corbels supporting two female figures in the composition. Traces of Saint Andrew's cross remain visible in the upper section, hinting at an earlier naming tradition.
