Far des Cap de ses Salines

Far des Cap de ses Salines is a lighthouse at the southernmost point of Mallorca with a white tower marked by a green horizontal stripe. The structure stands within a protected marine area surrounded by coastal formations and geological features.

The lighthouse began operating in 1870 as a navigation aid for Mediterranean vessels. It has functioned continuously since then, remaining an essential marker for ships passing this coastal region.

The lighthouse has served for generations as a vital reference point for local fishermen navigating these waters. Its distinctive light pattern and white tower with green stripe remain recognizable landmarks for anyone working on the sea.

The lighthouse is located roughly 9 kilometers south of Llombards, accessible via the Ma6110 road. Visiting during daylight hours allows better exploration of the surrounding protected coastal area and its geological features.

The lighthouse has a light range of roughly 11 nautical miles, making it visible from considerable distances at sea. This extensive coverage area has made it one of the most important navigation points for all southern maritime traffic around Mallorca.
